This is today's daily creation!  It's a very impressionistic depiction of mustard fields in springtime  vineyards.  Spring in the vineyards is absolutely gorgeous!!  Sometimes the natural mustards and other wildflowers are so thick and high - it's hard to see the vines buried among all the flowers.  Napa and Sonoma have an annual Mustard Festival - any reason is good enough to celebrate in wine country, but this is an especially popular time there.  I used brushes and pallette knives to create the impasto (thick paint) effect.  Oils are great because they maintain the brush strokes and other textures of the paint.  Of course - they're a bit messy.  And who knows when this will dry!

One learning today - start painting early!  In part, to have enough natural sunlight to take the photo.  About the time I was finishing this painting, a big ol' storm came in and the rain and clouds blocked much of the sunlight.  Maybe that wasn't a bad thing.

I'm making progress on my shopping cart, which may be available tomorrow.  The SSL Certificate has been approved - meaning buyers can purchase directly through a secure site.  Man, there lots of "pieces parts" to all this website stuff.  I get very excited when I conquer one!!

Thanks for visiting my site.   Have a beautiful day!!

Nice! I tried to click on the photo to see the impasto up close--will that be possible on the blog later? Since I can't touch...

Good question, Barb.  I feel certain you can enlarge the painting on this page - "stay tuned" - I'm figuring that out.  In the meantine, you can see a larger image at yessy.com/ctrue - in the "Small Treasures" gallery.
