I knew today would be a red day but I wasn't sure what shape the red would be. One thing about a daily painting - you have to make decisions quickly and move on with the painting process. I think that's a fun exercise in the creative process. So often we have too many options and it's hard to decide what to paint. When you look at the clock and it's already 2:00 and you haven't started, you know you better get beyond the "thinking" and hit the painting phase! Those other choices will be there after this one is done. I decided to continue with the loose pallette knife style but to do a floral painting instead of a garden. This piece is loaded with paint - lots of texture.
This weekend we have visitors coming from Montana. That's a good excuse to hang some more art, plant some real flowers, clean up the place and just "settle in" a bit more in this house. Always great to have visitors to get things done!
Here's to a great and beautiful weekend for all!

I like it a lot, Claudia. I love the thick paint, though I could only see so much of it on the enlargement. The colors are nice, and I like the looseness and background (especially the right side!)
I liked Garden Pot a lot too. Reminded me of Cambria...
You are doing an excellent job sticking with the blog and the daily paintings. Put your feet up and enjoy your visitors this weekend!
