This is a continuation of my "fluffy series."  Or at least 2 fluffies so far.  With this little jewel, I wanted the brush stroke to really show.  I'm not sure you can see it in the images, but I got it!  And I want to do a series of paintings with very loose strokes to play with that approach and with the brushes for a change from the pallette knife.  I just love to paint 3 flowers.  Sort of my "signature."  Working with a thematic subject matter let's you play with colors, texture etc and not have to worry about what on earth you're going to paint!  Besides - flowers are maybe my favorite "things" in art!

Last night was a great visit with a friend from California.  We started at the Hyatt near Crown Center where he was staying.  We got a glimpse into Crown (not Crowne - oops!) Center through the wonderful walkways in the air that connect many of the places in that exciting corner of Kansas City.  We just walked on past CC on our way to Union Station.  This friend is nuts about historical architecture so we headed to Union Station to show it off to him.  We had a drink in Pierponts - (that's the "P" in J. P. Morgan of railroad fame) and saw the great old architecture and art deco decor.  Then we walked through another walkway to a row of restaurants in the old red brick  Freight Station.  This friend is a railroad engineer so he was really enjoying the sights!  He wanted some famous Kansas City barbeque.   Fiorella's Jack Stack Barbeque in the Freight House was the perfect combination of BBQ, historical architecture, and old train stuff!   Another fun adventure in discovering K.C. and seeing old friends.  Crown Center will be there when we're ready.

Have a beautiful day!
