Before moving to California, I lived in Colorado for 12 years.  I feel so fortunate to have experienced so many parts of the country:  Texas, Pennsylvania, Colorado, California - and now Kansas.  Each has its own mysqtique and beauty and charm and personality.  For some reason, this morning I had a longing thought that I'd love to live in every state - and then some other countries, too!  Life's too short but that would be way cool!  When I left Texas for graduate school at Penn State, it was "okay" because I knew I'd go home in 4 years.  As much as I love Texas - and I'll always be a Texan at heart - I'm glad I've known other places and people, too.  ANYWAY - Colorado was just too beautiful for words!  We often went to the mountains for a day or a weekend, and I'd think - people plan their whole vacations to do this!  I just felt like the luckiest gal in the world.

People often wonder where artists get their inspirations.  This painting was inspired by the Nov/Dec 2006 cover of Western Interiors and Design - a beautiful magazine.  The photo shows a view of the mountains, looking out from an outdoor dining area - the table and floral arrngements are in orange and red tones.  No problem painting the mountains - the colors so caught my eye!  But I didn't want to do a table so the colors in that table turned into a mountain path!  Oh - it's so fun being creative!!!

Okay - after posting this, I'm going to be very brave and post my website.  This is very scary!!  Early next week I'll do a big email promotion - after I get the kinks worked out.  If you happen to visit the site (claudiatrue.com) and see any thing that needs to be fixed, I'd greatly appreciate a note!!

Here's to a beautiful weekend for all!
