Today's posting is just fun! Last night in our "dinner party painting class" we painted the main course. Look at previous postings for the flower arrangement, drinks and dessert. This was a very casual dinner - very suited for summer. The instructor talked about line work, and I certainly love working with lines. I've decided it's related to my previous life as a geologist. When I started working as a geologist "way back when" - ie, before computers - we drew all our maps by hand. I probably have miles and miles of contour lines embedded deep down in my psyche. It's so fun to make a suggestion of something with paint, and then help finish that suggestion with a few dashes of line here and there.
I'm just now going to paint for the day. Had to put out a few brush fires. I decided to post last night's work so I wouldn't feel rushed to finish something late in the day. I think I'll even paint this weekend -after a visit to the farmer's market. Maybe I'll get some inspirations there and continue with this food scene. Or ????
Have a fun and beautiful weekend!
