This is another painting in a long running "pink tree" series.  Or I should say pink trees painted over a long period of time.  There are so many inspirations for these beauties.  In California, the almond orchards are absolutely gorgeous when they're covered with pink blossoms.  That's a real herald of Spring in the Central Valley where we lived.  It made it worth the drive along I-5 or HWY 99 in the center of the Valley, just to see the stunning expanses of pink!  Earlier this Spring we found out we have dogwoods in our backyard that were beautiful in bloom - until they were zapped by a freaky April freeze.  But we know those trees will give us that pink show again next Spring and that's very good.

I feel like I'm on a real pink kick lately.  Not the last 2 entries, but a lot of entries in my blog have had lots of pink.  Interesting.   In my early days, I painted a lot of yellow stuff.  And I do mean yellow!!  And then red - bright, intense red.  Must have been the South Texas upbringing and living in bright, bright parts of California.  It was so fun.  It seems that my colors are getting a little more muted since my move to Kansas, but today's painting actually has bolder colors than some of my earlier pink trees.  Maybe that fun painting I did over the last few days brought out the bold colors.  Art definitely shows the personality of the painter - and the moods.

On that note - have a beautiful evening.  Think pink!  Who knows what that might do for your mood . . . . .
