Another red day! This is one of those paintings to use up the paint on my pallette. If you notice, yesterday's piece doesn't have a lot of red, so I had all these blobs of red still waiting to find a home. I decided I needed to add to my "Small Treasures" gallery - paintings that cost less than $100. So all those cosmic thoughts came together and I did this tiny, little painting that has lots of red! I also wanted to stick with an almost monochromatic painting - the busy floral yesterday wore me out! Interesting how painting affects you. This was fun to do! And reminds me of my long stretch of tropical paintings in the past. I LOVE the tropics - and feel fortunate to have been to so many beautiful tropical spots, like Mexico, Bali, Australia, and our own "tropics" in the U.S - Hawaii, California, etc. This sort of reminds me of the volcano regions of Hawaii. You can almost feel the new ground being made with molten lava. Those people know how to live on the "edge!" I guess people in Mexico feel that way now with hurricane Dean. As I always say - everything has trade-offs.
Today I'm off to paint at the McCall farm - first time in a while because it's been so hot! It's still hot, but we have a nice breeze. I'll take lots of water - and bug spray.
Thanks to my subscribers for your feedback on yesterday's entry. It helps!
Here's to a bright, beautiful evening!
