Back to Cedar Creek, Ks - or at least back to photos from there.  We return to paint on location tomorrow for the last time before the art show.  This is a 2nd version of a scene painted a few days back.  It's fun to paint the same scene several times and play with variations.  This isn't quite as "Fall" looking as the first one, but it definitely is more colorful than the real place which is SO green.  Green is good - but I like to add a little more pizzaz.  In my kind of art, you start with an inspiration then take it to another level with your imagination.  The camera captures "the real thing" - a painter's challenge is to make that "real thing" their own design.

What a nice 3-day weekend we had - hope you did, too.  We gathered with family and friends yesterday to close out the summer, at least the official summer season.  When you don't have kids in school and you're not working at jobs away from home, you sort of forget these seasonal changes.  We almost forgot it was a 3-day weekend!  But we got in the spirit, ate lots of yummy food, and generally enjoyed the day and company.  Now we're thinking Fall - and we're ready for some cool weather and football!

Here's to a beautiful new season!
