Woo Hoo! Today's a "2-fer" day. Two cute little "Small Treasures" for you to enjoy. I'm adding to my gallery of small treasures - little original paintings for under $100. These have been very popular as a way to start your collection - or to add a brilliant splash of color someplace in your home or office. They're also great gifts! For me, they're really fun to paint and are a great way to experiment. Both of today's paintings were done with a pallette knife over a solid base of color. The color was whatever was left on my pallette when I was finished with a larger painting. How efficient is that! It also stretches your creativity to see what colors and "stuff" to add to that base of "left over" paint. These are signed on the side of the canvas. Very cool little originals!
I'm off to do more serious painting today with some of my new painting pals. We're doing plein air painting - ie, painting outside while observing nature. It's starting to cool down here. I'll still take my bug spray, mainly for chiggers. People here say that chiggers and other pesty little critters go away after the first freeze. I'm holding them to it . . . .
Have a beautiful and chigger-free evening!
