After Gaughin

I don't normally copy art - but I'm stretching again to try some figurative work.  This is a part of a famous painting by Gaughin.  I do relate to his colors - and here go the tropics again.  You might compare colors in this painting with the fun still life in my last posting - that was totally an original painting.  This is not an exact copy nor was it intended to be.  The oils were applied to watercolor paper - you get a very different look than oils on canvas.  Cool!  Another experiment with the oil medium.  I may play with this painting a little but not much.  And - this may be the start of adding figures in some of my paintings.  I experimented with figurative work a couple of years ago - another painting is included in the shopping cart under "Figures."  Another new adventure!!

Our weekend was very full and nice.  We saw old friends, kept our granddaughter, participated in an art show.  Life is good!

Here's to an absolutely beautiful week!
