I've added a new category for my art - "Kids Art" - meant for kids of all ages.  In California, I was known for doing really fun, whimsical and sometimes primitive art.  I've gotten away from that a little but today's painting is a journey back - sort of.  I was thinking "little girl pink" when I did this painting and wanted to keep it soft and joyful.  It's done with a pallette knife in the style I'm experimenting with now.  Oh, the fun discoveries you make along the creative path!  Actually, this was inspired by a conversation with a friend in Dallas.  She has a new showroom/gallery in the World Trade Center in Dallas and has asked me to send art.  Of course I will!  She has a very upscale line of furniture for kids and adults and we're sending some paintings to go with her other merchandise.  She knew my art in those whimsical fun days and that's what she wants - plus some of my new more serious art for the more "grown up" adults.  But hey - just because you're all grown up doesn't mean you can't like fun art!!

So here's to a fun and beautiful day!

Nice, Claudia! It dawned me while looking at the close-up of this painting with it's texture and the knife work you've been doing, that you would like encaustic too!

I came back from Cambria with some fun little pieces and I am SO hooked. And talk about FAST. When you are working with wax that cools between the hot palette and your substrate...you have to MOVE. Quite fun. I think you would like it. A reason for us to meet at a workshop someday...

Barb - I'd love to take a workshop with you, especially working with encaustic.  That look is very appealing to me - every time I see an encaustic piece I think I'd like to do that.  I also find that most of my favorite art work is something that's done fast, probably because it's very free.  Where can I see your new art?

Thanks, Sharon.  So good to hear from you.  I'm replying in this public forum because my emails to you still won't go through.  Bummer.  Hi to Dean from Mike and me!
