Today's bowl of apples is another interpretation of the still life that I painted yesterday. Actually, I painted this first and then zoomed in on just the bowl with my 2nd painting. Yesterday I liked the 2nd painting much more than this one as it stood then. This was just sort of "there." It was the first time I'd tried to paint in several days and the start up was a bit weak. After that "warm up," I was ready to get into the painting groove. Plus, the 2nd was done with a pallette knife which is so freeing. SOOO - today I just hit this little painting with the pallette knife and more paint and more gusto and I like it a lot more! That's one good thing about oils versus acrylics - I could still move the paint around with this oil. But who knows when it will be dry! Life's about trade-offs. . . . And often about 2nd chances and not giving up! And not being afraid to just get in there and go for it!!
Have a beautiful evening.
