Okay, folks. This time I'm really "back." Had a wonderful vacation in Colorado - Estes Park was beautiful with clear blue (!) skies, crisp fall weather, and of course the beautiful mountains. I had every intention of painting while there but the weather didn't cooperate for painting outside (too "brisk" and windy) and I was not going to spend our precious time in the mountains staying indoors. So we took lots of photos and had a great time exploring nature, wineries, museums, etc. I have lots of new inspiration!! Should keep me busy for a while.
Today's painting is another "repeat." It's also seasonal - this was the image for my Christmas cards last year. It's available in prints in various sizes - 12" x 12" and 6" x 6". Fun!! This painting was commissioned by a friend for a fundraiser for Boys and Girls Club and Assistance Against Family Violence - two charities that I supported in Bakersfield through donations of my art. The original was auctioned and the art was featured at a very classy event to help these causes.
My plan is to get back on track and to start posting new originals tomorrow. I'm also getting ready to be in a group showing at a local bank. I love it when companies support local artists!! It's an honor to be part of this group. Also - a great reason to get focused again on my painting. AND - I'm going to start teaching again, at Artichokes. This will be a 3-session class for the holidays. I'm really excited to get back into teaching - I always learn so much from my students!! And I miss them.
Life is beautiful - I hope yours is, too!
