How's this for inspiration from the mountains?  I truly am inspired by all that grandeur, but I also need to work on a series for a show.  So those mountains will show up sometime in the future.  This is another palette knife painting.  I love taking a big pallette knife and loading it up with tons of paint - several colors at a time - and just adding layers and layers of thick paint to the canvas.  Good thing this is acrylics!  If not and with cool weather, it might take weeks for the painting to dry.  That's okay - unless you need the painting for a show next week!  Nothing like deadlines . . . .

It felt so good to get back into the studio today and to be productive.  My painting is still my "R & R."  Put on some good music and be creative.  Isn't that nice!  We saw our twin granddaughters in Denver on our way to the mountains and we told them we were headed there to work.  I don't think they got it - but it's a treat to think that your "work" is something you love so much.

Okay - we did see lots of bluebirds in the mountains.  Maybe that's the inspiration for today!  Or maybe not.  But the birds were awfully pretty and I hope you think this painting is, too.

Take care and have a beautiful evening!
