Good stuff and students work

Okay - I said there's lots of good stuff going on in my life.  I'll start sharing some of it with you today but you have to "stay tuned" to hear about all of it.  I'm sort of amazed that there are so many "positives" right now.  That's a great thing.

First - please notice that I changed the title of my blog to "Claudia True's Art and Art Adventures."  I was really into the daily art thing for a while and I learned tons from it.  Now I'm shifting my focus to some larger pieces - which take more than a day to complete - and to more teaching and experimenting with my art.  Fun!!

This is the first posting of paintings by my students in a recent workshop in Bakersfield, California.  I'm sharing them in the order that I got images from all these budding artists.

Don't ya love those roosters!!!  Those were done by Tracy Van Fossen - the gal in the pink painting apron.  She's been a student of mine for a while and her daughter Tobey joined us for her first experience painting with acrylics.  Both of these ladies are tiny but you'd never know it based on their energy and zest for life.  Tracy's painting is almost larger than she is!!  I've asked her to send a better photo - without the light from the flash.  Maybe I'll learn how to do that fancy photo editing someday.  You definitely get the jist of this piece of art.  It's so colorful and full of energy.  Tracy loves Mexico - you can sure see that South of the Border influence.  The more Tracy paints, the bolder she gets.  Great job!

The workshop was a wonderful two days of being with old friends and students and painting together.  Carol and Jerry Helt opened their incredible "shop" and it was just the best place to paint.  Beautiful setting on the Kern River - and it's air conditioned!!  We weren't outside too much because the temps were in the 100's - in May.  Yikes!

More good news coming soon and more art from my students.  I'm so proud of all of them!!  They're making beautiful art and they're having a great time doing it.
