Watermelon Mojito!

I haven't had this much fun painting in a long time! When I brought this painting home (from my studio - woo hoo!), my husband said - "what's that?" I said a watermelon mojito - of course!! Honestly . . . . I was in Austin, Tex last weekend and picked up a local publication that had a recipe for this yummy sounding drink. They know how to beat the heat down there. Or at least they have fun trying . . . . I'd love to try this at our daughter and son-in-law's July 4th party - but I don't have time to fix it now. Too much to do to get ready for the Missouri Wine and Art festival on Saturday! I'm so very excited about this festival. In California, I did many weekend art shows. This is my first in the Kansas City area - hopefully it won't be my last. We'll see how the weather is - didn't have to worry about rain and storms most of the year in Bakersfield.
Next week I'm back to sharing some of my students art from the workshop in California. I'm so proud of them!
Hope you have a safe, beautiful and festive Fourth of July! It's an honor to live in our great country and I'm so thankful to all who have made that possible - and who continue to do so.
Don't forget about the 2009 calendar that Holly Bikakis and I are doing - paintings of food and drinks, recipes, fun fun fun!!!! You might see a little cocktail in there somewhere.
p.s. (I know - be quiet already) - If these paintings aren't sold at the wine and art festival, they'll show up in my shopping cart. FYI. Now - go have dinner!
