Samantha Murray and her artsy family

Today's featured student - Samantha Murray - the aspiring artist and design guru! Samantha (or Sasha as her Grandmother calls her) painted with me for the first time in this workshop. With a Mom who's taught art, I have to believe she's been around painting and art a bit before. Isn't that a fun cup painting she did! Sam was with us half a day - she had to leave to get ready to head to L.A. for training in design. She's following her Mom's inspiration for education. I can definitely see an eye for design in this painting. Sam was there with her Mom, Terri (green shirt) and her grandmother Joyce. I think it's wonderful that these three generations share the same interest and get to paint together. You can read about Joyce and Terri in previous postings. These ladies all have the biggest smile and a close bond. I love it!
Samantha is a beautiful gal with a lot of talent and her whole adult life ahead of her. I wish her the best in school and life!! And keep painting - in your spare time . . . .

I love Sam's mug, and the family dynamics are enviable...wish I had enjoyed this with my Mom and Grandma. Maybe something I can do with grandchildren someday...
As always, Claudia--your blogs are an inspiration!
Thank you! Glad you are still kicking butt. And hopefully I will be in this group next time you come back to town!

Barb - I bet you'll be a very artsy Grandma!! I hear ya about wishing you'd done that with your Mom and Grandma. My Mother got into art after she retired and she was actually very good. I didn't realize how nice her paintings were until I started painting again as an adult. My Mom loved that I got back into art - she always encouraged it when I was young. One of my favorite Christmas gifts when I was in college was a set of acrylic paints and brushes! Barb, I hope you're still painting and are feeling good these days. Let's paint together again someday!! Great memories of our paintings days in the past -
