Tobey and her many paintings

Today's featured workshop artist - Tobey Terry from Oxnard, Ca.  This is one energetic lady - and painter!!  Must get some of that from her Mom - Tracy Van Fossen - who was also in the workshop.  This is the first time I painted with Tobey, and her first experience with acrylics.  As you can see from her art exhibit, Tobey was a painting kind of fool!  Most of the smaller paintings were done on the first day.  Once she got on a roll, it was "get out of her way and let her paint."  She did ask lots of questions and was determined to learn as much as she could in the two days.  Tobey was into experimenting and trying all kinds of approaches with the paints.  Wonderful enthusiasm and focus. You can see that focus where she's starting her "masterpiece."  Tobey and her family are big Mexico afficionados and she painted a Mexican hacienda - you can see the finished product and the beaming artist with the rest of her art show.  She really nailed the colors and the feel of Mexico!  I think Tobey has a bright future for painting - in oils, acrylics or whatever she chooses.

Another beautiful painting by another budding artist.  Look out world!
