Chris Romanini and paintings

Check out the fun paintings by Chris Romanini!  Chris didn't send me any photos so I'm using some sent by Cindy (her sister) and Carol.  The only photos of Chris from the workshop show her at the easel but from the back.  This is Chris at an art opening of my students' works in Bakersfield just before I moved - January 2007.  Chris had 6 pieces in the show and she sold one!!  That just blew her away.  It shouldn't have - she had some great art, especially for someone who hadn't been painting very long.  At the workshop, Chris focused on very simplified and whimsical art - as you can see from the 3 fun paintings!  Chris loves to paint with her small grandchildren.   That whimsical approach must work well with them.  When Chris first started at the workshop, it took a while for her to calm down and settle in - she just has so much energy!  But once we got everything arranged okay (new easel, etc), she got down to business and painted away.  This is another artsy family - Chris and Cindy are sisters who learned to paint together and still share this interest.  Chris's son was one of my very first students, many years ago.  One thing so interesting to me is how personalities show in someone's art.  Cindy paints with great details, and Chris is more stylized and simplified.  They may be sisters, but their own unique personalities shine in their pieces!

Sharing an interest in art is a beautiful way to meet new friends and to bond with family members who also love art.  What a special connection.  Great job, Chris!  Keep sharing with those fun grandkids - another generation of artists.  And keep painting!
