Beautiful Blue Heron

No showing of "nature" at the Mr and Mrs F.L. Schlagle Library would be complete without a blue heron - their mascot. What a graceful bird! To me, this painting has an Asian feel with simple lines and design. That was the effect I was going for and I think I achieved it. Kansas is defnitely blessed with many beautiful birds and I have a new appreciation for them after moving here - AND after painting them.
But - enough birds for now. Today I'm painting fossils! My approach has been milling around in my mind for several weeks - now it's time to jump in and try something new!!
